Trident is a subsea diver piping inspection tool. It provides a platform for high-resolution wall thickness mapping and state of the art weld inspection.

The Trident system offers a cost effective new solution for shallow water pipeline inspection.

How does is work?

Trident includes in house developed ultrasonic hardware and software (Technology Design) allowing real-time inspection data to be transferred topside via it’s lightweight umbilical.

Ultrasonic techniques

Trident’s design offers operators a welcome alternative to traditional subsea piping inspection. Trident's ultrasonic techniques include Phased Array, Pulse Echo and Time of Flight Diffraction for rapid mapping and weld inspection.

Phased Array can be performed in both Linear (mapping) or Sectorial (weld inspection) mode with the acknowledged benefits of speed and flexibility this technique offers.

Weld integrity

The lightweight scanner performs full 360 degree, by 500 millimeter long survey of the subsea pipeline section providing high resolution, imaged and empirical data on the integrity of the welds and any reduction in wall thickness due to corrosion.
